Meet BZNC: Dr. Noha Abou-Madi

How did you get involved with BZNC?

Dr. George V. Kollias created the partnership between the Belize Zoo and Cornell University, College of Veterinary Medicine. I have been fortunate to participate in this program and became interested in the excellent work the BZNC was doing.

What BZNC initiative is the most meaningful to you?

The dedication of the Belize Zoo staff to conservation education is truly inspiring. Through their engaging programs for both children and adults, they cultivate a deeper appreciation for Belize’s unique wildlife while fostering international partnerships that strengthen community-based conservation efforts.

What do you wish more people knew about wildlife or Belize?

The work at the Belize Zoo and Tropical Education Center exemplifies how education, dedication, and collaboration can inspire individuals and communities to make meaningful contributions to protecting Belize natural heritage and conserving its remarkable wildlife.
