Meet BZNC: Dr. Thomas Pasquarello

How did you get involved with BZNC?

I was one of the founding members (and past President) of BZNC. We started BZNC to support the important conservation and animal rescue work that was being done at the zoo.

What BZNC initiative is the most meaningful to you?

We supported the building of a new clinic and commissary for the animals at the Belize Zoo. This new clinic and commissary allowed the zoo staff and veterinarians to perform medical procedures and prepare meals in safe and sanitary conditions. The wellbeing of the animals, staff, and veterinarians benefitted from this iniative.

What do you wish more people knew about wildlife or Belize?

Many of the birds that we see in the United States during the summer spend their winters in Belize. When habitat in Belize is destroyed, bird populations in the U.S. suffer.
